Rapunzel Tangled Theme Birthday Party

This year we decided to have the party outside. It seems like every year the party gets bigger and bigger. We had 18 kids this year. That's just too many in my house and with the weather over 100 every day in August in Texas it is just too hot in the back yard. So I chose a splash pad near our house. The kids had a blast:)  I had SO much fun making all these things for Ellie's 5th Tangled party! I found lots of great inspiration at Oh Amanda & Family Fun.

My friend Sarah helped me make this the night before. It ended up leaning a bit but I thought gave it more character:)

she dove right into her cupcake. all the kids were green after eating them.

I made this crown with my Silhouette machine.

Backpack Tags

I can't believe we only have 3 weeks until school starts! This summer has flown by. We already started shopping for school supplies. I picked up Ellie a new packback at Target the other day on sale.  I just made her a nametag for her backpack. I came across this idea on Etsy and just had to make her one.

This is the backpack Ellie picked out and the tag I made her to match :)

Redecorting bedroom

I recently decided to redecorate my bedroom with yellow and grey. I finally found a quilt that I love and an accent pillow at Target. I am still on the hunt for some light grey sheets and bedskirt. Still working on painting. I finally found a shade of grey I liked after 3 samples.

Thrifty finds: @ Joann's

Joann's has recently moved everything around in our local store. They now have a really nice section for school supplies, posters, games, flash cards and more. It does not have quite the selection like Mardel but I found some good deals.

Stickers $3.99
200 count construction paper $6.99 used 40% coupon to get it for $4.20

DIY digital silhouettes

I have been wanting silhouette pictures of the girls for awhile. I came across this great tutorial from Positively Splendid today.  I used Photoshop to make mine and I love the way it turned out. Here is Miss E's. I am working on Miss P's next. If I can get her to sit still long enough to get a profile shot of her :)

Here is another tutorial I found from weddingbee.com too. I think I will try this one with Miss P and see which is easier.
